Major General Abdullah Abdul Aziz, Governor of Beni Suef, accompanied by his deputy Bilal Habash, inaugurated an advanced pyrolysis plant in the Kom Abu Radi industrial zone in the Al-Wasta Center. This plant is part of the Inclusive Green Growth in Egypt «IGGEI» project, implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization «UNIDO» in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
Circular Economy Technologies and Waste Conversion
The plant aims to promote the circular economy by converting organic and agricultural waste into value-added products, such as biochar, which is used as a soil conditioner, and wood vinegar, which acts as a natural pest repellent. The plant's preparation works included the installation of pyrolysis lines and waste shredding equipment, in addition to packaging lines, which contributes to reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change through sustainable solutions.
Supporting the Investment Environment in Beni Suef
On the sidelines of the inauguration, the Governor held a meeting at the headquarters of the Kom Abu Radi Industrial Zone administration to review work updates and follow up on efforts to overcome obstacles for investors. The Governor stressed the importance of continuous coordination between the governorate and the Investors Association to ensure the stability of production operations, pointing out that Beni Suef has 9 industrial zones that provide an attractive environment for serious investments that support the local economy and create new job opportunities for young people.
The Governor explained that the governorate's vision goes beyond expanding the construction of factories to include supporting innovative ideas that achieve economic and environmental returns, confirming the commitment of executive agencies to provide the necessary facilities for environmentally friendly projects, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
