A truck loaded with compressed natural gas overturned on the main road connecting Panki and Medininagar, near the Salgas cemetery, leading to a state of emergency and traffic disruption for three hours.
The truck was on its way from Bokaro to transport gas to a fuel station in Daltonganj before the driver lost control due to sudden braking, causing it to overturn in the middle of the road and leading to a long traffic jam in both directions.
Police forces from the Panki department arrived at the site immediately after receiving the report and imposed a tight security cordon around the area to prevent any potential risks of gas leaks, keeping pedestrians and drivers away from the accident scene.
Authorities used heavy equipment to lift the truck and remove it from the road, before gradually reopening traffic, while security teams continued their presence at the site to address ongoing reports about the possibility of gas leaking from the truck.
