Enerjisa Enerji has announced that it has reached a new financial agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), through which the company will receive financing of up to 150 million US dollars. This move comes as part of strengthening the company's strategy aimed at supporting and expanding its investments in renewable energy projects in the coming period.
Supporting renewable energy investments
This new financing aims to restructure the company's financial obligations, as it will be used to repay short-term debts that had previously been allocated to fund renewable energy projects and replace them with long-term financing that gives the company greater flexibility in executing its ongoing investment projects. This step reflects the confidence of international financial institutions in the energy transition paths pursued by the company and its ability to manage its financial obligations within the changing energy sector.
Commitment to sustainability and emission reduction
The financing agreement includes terms linked to sustainability criteria, as Enerjisa Enerji commits to achieving specific targets related to reducing carbon dioxide emissions as a key part of the funding terms. This initiative underscores the growing role of green financing in supporting major companies to achieve carbon neutrality goals and reduce the environmental impact of their operational activities. This trend comes at a time when the global energy sector is witnessing a radical shift towards sustainable energy sources, as sustainability-linked loans contribute to enhancing the attractiveness of companies to investors seeking to reduce environmental risks and ensure long-term growth sustainability. The transition from short-term debt to financing linked to environmental performance standards strengthens the company's financial solvency and supports its ability to keep pace with technological developments in clean energy fields, paving the way for further expansion in its portfolio of green projects.
