Vietnam's PV GAS continues to solidify its position as one of the fundamental pillars of the national energy sector, with a record spanning more than 36 years of continuous development. The company is the most important operational arm within the Petrovietnam Group, as it has led the development of gas industry infrastructure, ranging from collection and transportation operations to storage, processing, and international trading of gas products.
Strategic Expansions in Energy Infrastructure
Today, PV GAS owns an integrated network of strategic assets, which includes the Thi Vai LNG terminal with a capacity of up to one million tons, in addition to vital pipelines and advanced gas processing complexes such as Dinh Co. The company plays a pivotal role in supporting the national economy, as the energy sources it provides contribute to generating about 8% of Vietnam's electricity needs and meeting about 70% of nitrogen fertilizer requirements, while holding a market share of approximately 70% of the domestic LPG market.
Future Vision for Energy Transition and Digitalization
In its strategic plan for the period (2026-2030), the company aims to enhance its investments in clean energy projects, such as hydrogen and green ammonia. As part of its pursuit of digital transformation, PV GAS has concluded strategic cooperation agreements to establish integrated industrial and digital energy centers, including data center projects that rely on waste heat from LNG regasification processes, which opens new horizons for linking energy with digital infrastructure.
Strategic Leadership Directions
Bui Minh Tien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PV GAS, affirmed that the company is committed to continuing innovation to enhance its international competitiveness. The priorities of the next phase focus on improving the value chain from upstream to downstream, developing integrated energy complex models, and increasing the share of international activities to constitute at least 30% of total revenues. Through these efforts, the company seeks to join the list of the 30 largest companies in Southeast Asia and support the Petrovietnam Group to reach a ranking among the top 500 global companies by 2030, with a focus on sustainable growth and flexibility in the face of global energy market fluctuations.
