Global oil prices saw a slight decline in early trading at the beginning of the week, amidst the markets' continuous anticipation of global supply and demand trends and inventory developments directly affecting the movement of petroleum markets, which experts and analysts are closely monitoring to understand the future path of the energy sector amidst changing economic data and ongoing fluctuations in international exchanges.

Developments in Brent Crude and US Crude Prices

Global oil market trades closed at high levels towards the end of the week, with the global benchmark Brent crude recording levels close to $110 per barrel by the end of last week's sessions. In the same context, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude exceeded the $101 per barrel barrier, reflecting the ongoing state of volatility in global energy markets as a result of the interaction of geopolitical and economic factors and available production levels.

Stability of Local Price Lists and Market Impacts

At the institutional level, Petroleumex continued applying the approved price list since mid-October, as part of companies' commitment to update fuel and vehicle prices in line with prevailing data in both international and local markets, while continuing to closely monitor gasoline and diesel movement. Energy markets are eagerly awaiting global economic performance indicators and their direct impacts on the pricing of various petroleum derivatives, as inventory levels and production volumes play a major role in determining the direction of prices in the coming period, especially in light of the challenges facing major economic arenas and their ongoing reflections on transportation, energy, and traditional fuel costs.
