The solar energy market in Egypt is witnessing remarkable growth as industrial and commercial companies move to adopt renewable energy solutions, with the aim of reducing operating costs, enhancing electricity consumption efficiency, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels to support the state's efforts in achieving energy transition and promoting environmental sustainability.
New contracts for solar project implementation
Onasolar, a subsidiary of the Una Electric Group, announced the signing of new contracts to implement solar energy projects with a total capacity of approximately 6.9 MW, during its participation in the Egypt Energy conference and exhibition, as part of its plans to expand its business scope in the Egyptian market.
The new contracts included cooperation with four prominent companies in the industrial and commercial sectors: Americana with a capacity of 1.9 MW, Oumat with a capacity of 1.6 MW, Lazuli with a capacity of 1 MW, and Guide Textile with a capacity of 2.4 MW. These projects aim to provide integrated solutions that contribute to reducing companies' operational expenses and enhancing reliance on clean energy sources.
Continuous expansion and long experience in the market
With these new contracts, the total projects for which the company has secured contracts rose to approximately 17 MW, distributed across various economic sectors including agriculture, industry, and tourism. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Una Electric Group, Eng. Abdelrahman Shawky, emphasized that the growing trend towards solar energy represents a key element in companies' strategies to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and support environmental sustainability goals for electricity-intensive activities.
Onasolar was established in 2014 and has over ten years of experience in the Egyptian market, having implemented or provided solutions for projects with a total capacity exceeding 400 MW in the sectors of industry, agriculture, tourism, commercial buildings, and telecommunications, covering all stages of design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operation, and maintenance in a manner that suits the nature of the customers' consumption.
