Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has announced the launch of a large-scale public awareness campaign to combat the spread of drugs in the city of Jamshedpur, following the conclusion of the upcoming Chhath Puja celebrations. This announcement came within the framework of a social activity held by Das, coinciding with the "Kanya Pujan" rituals performed at the Sheetala Mata Temple on the occasion of Navratri.

Social awareness as a tool for change

During the event, Raghubar Das emphasized that legal efforts alone are not enough to eradicate the drug phenomenon that threatens youth in residential neighborhoods. He stressed the need to unite the efforts of all social and political organizations in Jamshedpur to create influential public opinion to limit the spread of narcotic substances, and to demand that authorities intensify surveillance of those who promote these illegal materials. He pointed out that this movement requires effective community participation, as eradicating this scourge begins with individual awareness and solidarity.

Values of public service and spirituality

During his speech, Das recalled aspects of his career in public service, confirming that continuity in serving the community was the main motive behind the completion of many vital projects in the city. He explained that spiritual values give him the necessary energy to move forward in his development and social projects, noting that his philosophy in life is based on living for others and not just for oneself.

Recalling temple memories

Raghubar Das also reviewed the local history of the Sheetala Mata Temple, noting the significant transformations the site has witnessed since 1995, as it has been transformed through the efforts of local residents from a barren land into an integrated religious and social complex. He stressed that his continuous communication with the people of the region enhances his ability to understand current social challenges, foremost among them the health and security challenges associated with the spread of drugs among youth, calling on everyone to work with a team spirit to ensure a better future for coming generations in the state of Jharkhand.
