Economic indicators and national strategies in Egypt emphasize the importance of giving top priority to the transition toward clean and renewable energy, alongside integrating the informal economy into the formal system, as they are two fundamental pillars to support the path of economic growth and enhance the state's ability to face current regional and international challenges.

Pillars of the green economy and clean energy strategy

Egypt possesses an integrated strategy for the energy sector based on expanding new and renewable energy sources and attracting local and international investments. The clean energy component receives increasing attention within the state's plans, supported by the expansion of wind and solar energy projects, as well as the success in establishing Egypt's presence in the green hydrogen market and major renewable energy projects. Investment zones, led by the Suez Canal Economic Zone, play a pivotal role in enhancing international competitiveness and attracting major specialized global companies.

Geopolitical challenges and public debt management

Geopolitical developments and tensions have affected expectations regarding interest rates and the cost of debt service, which imposed a cautious approach to protect the economy from inflationary pressures. Despite these challenges, the government is seeking to reduce public debt rates relative to the GDP, with an emphasis on the fact that the management of external debt is proceeding along safe paths and is under control. Accelerating the implementation of the government IPO program is also a key step to strengthen the confidence of international rating agencies and encourage foreign investment inflows.

Integrating the informal economy and foreign exchange prospects

Data related to foreign exchange resources indicate positive developments that support exchange rate stability according to flexible policies, driven by the rise in remittances from Egyptians abroad and the recovery of tourism, exports, and Suez Canal revenues. In the same context, the informal economy file emerges as one of the most important files that require effective mechanisms and incentives for integration into the formal economy, which contributes to raising the volume of GDP and improving the state's public financial indicators through an integrated vision for sustainable growth.
