The Turkish city of Izmir witnessed the organization of a specialized seminar titled "Electric Vehicle Ecosystem: Technology, Infrastructure, and New Business Models," as part of a strategic partnership between the Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGOD) and Aydem Energy. The seminar aimed to explore the radical transformations taking place in the energy and automotive sectors, and their direct impacts on the business environment and future investments.

Technological and Economic Transformations in the Mobility Sector

Discussions focused on the importance of developing charging station infrastructure, managing energy efficiently, and mechanisms for transitioning traditional fleets to electric ones. Speakers from Aydem Energy, represented by Retail Group Sales Manager Sarper Saraçoğlu and Aydem Plus Project Manager Ahmet Say, emphasized that electric vehicles are no longer just an advanced means of transportation, but have become a key driver reshaping the production, software, and logistics sectors.

The Green Transition as a Pillar of Competition

For his part, Mert Hacıraifoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGOD, stressed the necessity for companies to adopt proactive strategies to keep pace with the green transition, considering it a fundamental pillar of economic competition in the modern era. He explained that the world is witnessing a major boom, with global electric vehicle sales exceeding 20 million units in 2025, accounting for a quarter of total new car sales, with China emerging as a manufacturing powerhouse dominating three-quarters of global production.

Growth Prospects in the Turkish Market

Regarding the Turkish market, Hacıraifoğlu explained that the share of electric vehicles in new car sales jumped significantly from less than 1% in 2021 to 22% in 2025. He stressed that this growth opens up vast investment horizons in the fields of energy storage, smart grids, software development, and fleet management, calling on companies to integrate these data into their strategic plans to secure their position in new value chains and not be content with the traditional operational model.
