FIMER has announced the launch of its new central inverter, the PVS990-2000, specifically designed for utility-scale solar projects. The new inverter platform features an operational capacity ranging from 2000 to 8000 kVA, providing a scalable architecture to support large-scale solar power plants while focusing on improving system efficiency and reducing installation time.
The inverter supports DC input voltages of up to 1500V, with an operating voltage range between 935V and 1350V. The device reaches a peak efficiency of 99% or more, while the European efficiency is 98.8% or higher, enhancing its performance in various operational conditions. The device also supports a maximum DC current of 2300A and up to seven DC inputs.
Advanced Technical Features for Grid Support
The PVS990-2000 inverter includes grid support functions, such as power quality management and fault ride-through capabilities, as well as support for parallel operation and reactive power compensation at night. The system allows for communication with up to five master units, is fully compliant with international grid standards, and provides comprehensive protection for both AC and DC sides, while simplifying initial commissioning without the need for external cooling equipment.
KN Srivatsa, Co-CEO of the FIMER Group, noted that this inverter is the result of the company's continuous investment in research and development, based on meeting the needs of the global solar energy market. He emphasized that the new platform integrates advanced engineering expertise and field insights to deliver exceptional performance and scalability.
Robust Engineering Design
The inverter comes in an IP65-rated outdoor enclosure, with dimensions of 956mm x 2300mm x 2000mm and a weight of approximately 1500 kg. The device is designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions, withstanding ambient temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C, with power derating starting at 52°C. The system also supports communication via SCADA protocols dedicated to supervisory control and industrial data acquisition.
