The European renewable energy trading platform Solmería has announced the expansion of its services to include solar energy and battery energy storage projects in Romania. The platform covers ground-mounted, agrivoltaic, industrial, and commercial solar energy projects, as well as energy storage systems at various stages of development.
The platform officially launched last July with about twenty-five projects in France, before adding its first two projects in Romania. The initial offerings consist of agrivoltaic installations equipped with four-hour storage systems located in Cluj County, northwest Romania, with a total solar capacity of 6.22 megawatts and a total storage capacity of 6 megawatts and 24 megawatt-hours.
Maxime Courtin, CEO of Solmería, explained that the Romanian list also includes a ready-to-build hybrid park with a capacity of 55 megawatts peak and 193 megawatt-hours of storage capacity. He added that the initial offers have already received about ten expressions of interest from potential buyers.
The platform, which was created at the request of developers, seeks to bring liquidity to listed projects, accelerate transaction pace, and reduce brokerage costs. The sales commission is only payable upon the successful completion of a sale, at a cost significantly lower than traditional M&A agencies.
The CEO pointed out that the majority of French projects registered on the platform are currently undergoing advanced sales discussions, noting the platform's expansion into the Italian market last September. The number of registered buyers has reached more than three hundred so far, the majority from France and Italy, with dozens more joining each month.
