The Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC) concluded its activities after several days of strategic and technical discussions and sessions that brought together leaders and experts from the oil, gas, and energy industry, as well as representatives of international and regional companies. Participants discussed the future of the energy industry, reviewed investment opportunities, technological developments, and mechanisms for addressing current challenges to enhance the region's role in the energy system.

Accelerating Exploration and Increasing Production

The event's key recommendations focused on the necessity of intensifying exploration and research activities, accelerating the development of new discoveries, and linking them to production in the shortest possible time. Participants emphasized the importance of maximizing the utilization of existing fields, applying modern technologies, improving reservoir management, and raising well efficiency, alongside expanding the use of advanced seismic survey techniques and developing drilling methods to reduce risks and enhance economic returns.

Attracting Investments and Global Partnerships

The recommendations addressed the importance of continuing to develop the investment climate and updating contractual and economic models to encourage the injection of new investments into the oil and gas sector. Discussions also stressed solidifying trust with investment partners and directing resources toward projects capable of accelerating production, developing discoveries, and enhancing integration between government entities, national companies, and international firms.

Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation

The employment of artificial intelligence, technology, and digital transformation held a prominent place in the conference's recommendations due to their role in developing exploration and production activities. Attendees emphasized the importance of expanding the use of advanced analytics, reservoir evaluation, and operational planning, as well as developing data management systems and governance to support decision-making and raise operational efficiency.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency and Sustainability

The conference themes emphasized the necessity of improving operational efficiency and reducing operational costs while adhering to safety and environmental protection standards. The recommendations included employing modern technologies to improve asset performance, developing gas processing and facility management, and expanding solutions that contribute to reducing emissions and supporting local manufacturing and supply chains.

Empowering Youth and the Future of the Energy Sector

The conference witnessed widespread engagement with the younger generation of petroleum engineering and geology students, discussing the aspirations of new cadres and ways to link university education with the actual needs of the labor market. Participants recommended strengthening cooperation between the petroleum sector and universities to develop training programs and nurture youth skills in the fields of artificial intelligence and data analysis.
