The energy measurement and efficiency project, implemented with the support of the Regional Development Agency, has concluded by preparing and delivering measurement and study reports to sixteen facilities, including thirteen small and medium-sized enterprises. The project aimed to examine energy systems used within the facilities and identify areas of waste and opportunities for improvement.
Details of Field Activities and Training
The project activities included providing training and consulting programs covering areas of energy efficiency in steam and compressed air systems, as well as water conservation and centrifugal pump efficiency. Following the training programs, field visits were conducted to assess the operating conditions of existing systems and provide technical and advisory measurement services to identify excesses and reduce waste.
The fieldwork relied on advanced measuring devices including thermal cameras to monitor heat loss and insulation deficiencies in equipment, ultrasonic flow meters to evaluate flow rates in pumps, as well as tools for measuring temperature, humidity, air speeds, lighting and noise levels, in addition to the use of steam leak detectors.
Project Objectives and Expected Results
The project sought to raise awareness of the importance of energy efficiency, develop the ability to make decisions based on precise analysis and measurement, and support applications aimed at using energy resources more effectively.
The President of the Denizli Chamber of Commerce, Ugur Erdogan, emphasized that the efficient use of energy sources is crucial for enabling facilities to manage costs and enhance their competitiveness. He noted that existing systems for sixteen facilities were evaluated and areas of waste and efficiency improvements were identified, expressing his hope that the reports delivered to the companies will contribute to guiding their investments towards reducing consumption based on reliable data.
