The energy sector is witnessing radical transformations measured not only by the number of modern technologies announced, but by their ability to transition effectively from the stage of limited experiments to large-scale implementation on the ground. In the UAE, this transformation has become an essential part of the economic and developmental path, supported by the climate neutrality strategy and national policies supporting hydrogen, biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel, and electric mobility.

Inclusiveness and Integration of Solutions

Alternative energy solutions are treated as a complementary part of the traditional energy ecosystem rather than a separate path from it. Work in this field includes the simultaneous provision of biodiesel, green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The market needs a practical mix that suits the nature of each sector and the speed of its transition towards sustainability.

Local Development of Biodiesel

Biodiesel stands out as a clear practical model, as a specialized facility has been developed to produce this fuel with a large annual production capacity, with full readiness for future expansion to include advanced blends. This project provides companies and institutions with a viable option to reduce the carbon footprint of their operations without waiting for the complete replacement of assets and equipment.

Sustainable Mobility and Fast Charging

Clean energy options in the transport sector are expanding to include future service stations, where green hydrogen refuelling is integrated with traditional fuel and electric vehicle charging. Efforts are also ongoing to expand the fast-charging network for electric vehicles in cooperation with relevant authorities, bringing modern technologies directly to users on roads and at daily service points.

Partnerships to Support Aviation and Maritime Transport

The sustainable approach extends to the aviation sector, which requires long-term solutions to reduce emissions, by securing and blending sustainable aviation fuel for test flights. Biofuel blends are also used in heritage transport and non-electric fleets, alongside initiatives to collect used cooking oil and reintroduce it into the energy cycle to support the circular economy and accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future.
