Ho Chi Minh City has affirmed its commitment to providing a suitable environment and supportive mechanisms for youth, aiming to empower them to unleash their creative energies and actively contribute to addressing practical challenges facing urban development.
70th Anniversary Celebration of the Youth Union
These directions came during a major celebration organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Youth Union. The ceremony was attended by a number of party, state, and local officials, including representatives from the city's party committee, the People's Council, and the Fatherland Front Committee.
During the event, officials praised the role of the youth movement over seven decades in uniting ranks and supporting social and economic development goals, as well as promoting values of social responsibility, digital transformation, and environmental protection.
The role of youth in facing urban challenges
The city leadership stressed the importance of utilizing the expertise and energies of young people, scientists, and young entrepreneurs to contribute to finding innovative solutions to pressing problems, such as traffic congestion, flood mitigation, combating environmental pollution, and climate change adaptation.
The celebration also witnessed the launch of a digital map to interact with floods and storms, reflecting the city's orientation towards integrating modern technology into crisis management and community services.
Expanding the scope of initiatives and activities
Officials pointed out that the Youth Union is working to develop its working methods to meet the needs of various segments of society, including workers, employees, fishermen, and entrepreneurs in the various areas under the city's jurisdiction, which ensures enhancing teamwork and building a sustainable future.
