The Energy and Petroleum Administration, affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam, organized an awareness event at the "Tran Duy Hung" Middle School in the capital, Hanoi, targeting more than 2,000 students. The initiative aims to spread knowledge about safe, economic, and efficient energy use, and to develop skills for preserving environmental resources among the younger generations.

The importance of energy awareness in daily life

Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Deputy Principal of the school and Head of the Workers' Union, emphasized during his opening speech that energy plays a vital role in the lives of individuals and that its resources are not infinite. He pointed out that adopting smart practices in electricity and water consumption not only contributes to cost reduction but is also a practical step toward protecting the environment and ensuring resources for future generations. He explained that simple practices, such as turning off lights and unused appliances, promote the values of responsibility and a green lifestyle among students.

Interactive activities to consolidate concepts

The program relied on a fun, interactive approach to simplify energy efficiency concepts for students; it included quizzes and educational games that focused on topics such as: reasons why electricity saving is necessary, energy-saving usage habits for air conditioners and refrigerators, as well as safety guidelines to avoid electrical accidents, especially during extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain and flooding.

Through these activities, the Ministry of Industry and Trade seeks to equip students with the necessary skills to become energy ambassadors in their families and communities, which contributes to achieving national goals related to consumption rationalization and protecting the environment in an effective and sustainable manner.
