Oil prices in global markets recorded a noticeable decline during Tuesday's trading, as investors reacted to international geopolitical and economic developments. Despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding energy supplies from the Middle East region, the markets were influenced by new data regarding decisions to suspend certain sanctions and tariffs related to Russian energy exports, prompting investors to reassess their market positions.

Changes in benchmark crude prices

In terms of figures, Brent crude futures fell by 49 cents, representing a 0.45% decline, to settle at $109.06 a barrel. Similarly, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude saw downward movements, with November delivery contracts recording a 0.33% decline to reach $103.32 a barrel, as their expiration date approaches later.

As for the December contracts, which are currently the most traded in the markets, they recorded a decline of 46 cents, equivalent to 0.47% of their value, reaching $98.08 a barrel. These movements reflect the nature of current markets trying to balance geopolitical risks represented by Middle East tensions with shifts in international energy trade policies.

Analysts believe that price fluctuations come at a sensitive time for the global energy sector, as traders closely monitor any changes in regulatory restrictions imposed on major exporting countries. The dossier of Russian supplies and its effects on the overall balance between supply and demand remains a key factor in guiding price trends during the current period, amid expectations of further volatility while continuing to monitor political developments in oil-producing regions, and their direct effects on the stability and flow of supplies in the global market.
