The Egyptian petroleum sector witnessed the honoring of a number of outstanding cadres who have achieved remarkable accomplishments in the fields of energy efficiency and emissions reduction, as part of efforts to strengthen the petroleum business strategy towards sustainable energy transition. This honoring comes as a culmination of the continuous efforts and practical successes provided by these cadres to support energy consumption efficiency within petroleum companies.
This took place during the activities of the Mediterranean Petroleum Conference and Exhibition, where practical experiences were reviewed, which positively and noticeably reflected on the operating economics and performance efficiency in the various sectors of companies working in the field. These initiatives embody the commitment of the petroleum sector to modern environmental standards and reducing the carbon footprint.
Honoring outstanding petroleum cadres
The honors for the petroleum cadres were presented by a group of leaders from the sector and international companies. Eng. Salah Abdel Karim, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, Eng. Mahmoud Naji, Undersecretary of the Ministry supervising safety, environment, energy efficiency, and climate, and the Ministry’s official spokesperson, participated, alongside Javier La Rosa, President of Chevron for Basic Assets and Emerging Countries, in honoring the distinguished individuals.
The event reflected the importance of strategic partnerships and the exchange of expertise between the Egyptian petroleum sector and major international companies such as Chevron, to support innovation and develop practical solutions that contribute to rationalizing energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions in an effective and sustainable manner.
Objectives of the petroleum business strategy
These steps come at the heart of the state’s strategy to promote sustainable development in the energy sector, as the petroleum sector pays great attention to raising the efficiency of operations and operating facilities with the best environmental practices. Human cadres play a pivotal role in implementing these plans and turning future visions into a tangible reality that achieves a positive economic and environmental return.
