The state is adopting comprehensive plans to secure its basic electricity and fuel needs, and to ensure the continuity of supplies to homes and the industrial sector without resorting to load-shedding plans. These efforts rely on moving through multiple pathways, including enhancing domestic production, diversifying supply sources, expanding renewable energy projects, and improving and rationalizing consumption efficiency.
Scenarios for dealing with global energy prices
The Prime Minister reviewed scenarios for dealing with fluctuations in global energy prices and the rise in oil prices compared to the original budget estimates. The options put forward involved either the state bearing the additional burdens or passing on the increase, as government efforts tend towards absorbing a large portion of these shocks to ensure service stability and avoid long power outages, in order to preserve the interests of citizens and the continuity of industrial production.
Expanding renewable energy and natural gas
Relying on solar and wind energy forms a fundamental pillar for diversifying the country's energy mix and reducing reliance on traditional fuel. This is matched by ongoing plans to develop natural gas fields and increase the efficiency of its use in power generation plants, to achieve the required balance between the volume of domestic production and the growing consumption in various sectors.
Investment and rationalizing consumption to ensure sustainable supplies
The energy security system requires attracting more local and foreign investments directed toward developing infrastructure, storage projects, and updating electricity transmission and distribution networks. At the same time, rationalizing consumption and improving equipment efficiency play a pivotal role in reducing operating costs and minimizing waste, which supports the stability of the national grid and enhances the efficiency of using available resources.
