A delegation from the General Syndicate of Petroleum Workers, headed by Abbas Saber, participated in the activities of the Egypt 2026 Forum, in the presence of a number of union leaders and heads of union committees in petroleum companies. The participation came to follow up on discussions related to the future of the energy sector in Egypt, coinciding with a session on the Egyptian energy journey, national achievements, and future prospects, which addressed ways to develop the energy system, increase production, and secure the state's needs.

Importance of Training and Occupational Safety

Abbas Saber, President of the General Syndicate of Petroleum Workers, confirmed that the forum's discussions reflect the importance of dialogue about the future of energy as one of the pillars of national security and economic development. He pointed out that workers in the sector represent essential partners in implementing plans to increase production and raise operational efficiency. He stressed the necessity of linking technical and technological development with continuous training and qualifying human resources, in addition to strengthening occupational health and safety standards to improve the work environment and preserve workers' rights.

Strategic Discussions for Developing the Energy Sector

The forum's sessions witnessed a review of developments in the electricity, petroleum, natural gas, and renewable energy sectors, along with the challenges related to securing local needs, diversifying energy sources, and increasing their efficiency to confront global fluctuations. The union's delegation included a number of leaders and trade unionists, including Ahmed Mubarak, Mohsen Gabr, and Abdullah Mashhour, in addition to the heads of union committees in a number of petroleum companies, as part of the union's keenness to follow up on strategic issues for the petroleum sector and support development and modernization efforts.
