Accountant Abbas Saber, head of the General Union of Petroleum Workers, confirmed that the current phase requires joint efforts to enhance the capabilities of the energy sector, as it is the cornerstone of national security and a major supporter of economic development in Egypt. These statements were made on the sidelines of a high-level delegation from the union's participation in the activities of the "Egypt 2026 Forum", which is hosted by the New Administrative Capital, with the participation of an elite group of officials and experts concerned with the energy sector.

Qualifying human resources and occupational safety standards

Saber stressed that keeping pace with the rapid technological developments in the oil and gas sector requires a clear strategy for continuous training and qualifying human resources. He explained that investing in the human element goes hand in hand with strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment that stimulates production. He pointed out that this approach not only contributes to raising operational efficiency but also preserves the rights of workers and prepares them to perform their vital role in securing the country's energy needs and reducing dependence on imports, which enhances economic stability in the face of global fluctuations.

Strengthening participation in the national development journey

The participation of the General Union of Petroleum Workers in the forum's activities, which witnessed the presence of the Ministers of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Petroleum and Mineral Resources, confirms its active role in supporting the state's strategic plans. The union delegation included a number of prominent leaders, including Ahmed Mubarak, Vice President of the Union; Mohsen Gabr, Assistant Secretary-General; and Abdullah Mashhour, Secretary of Public Relations, in addition to the heads of union committees in major petroleum companies such as Petrobel, Gupco, Agiba, and Assiut Oil Refining.

Through this participation, the union seeks to follow national trends in managing the energy sector and develop the performance of the petroleum industry to serve the national economy, in addition to creating an environment attractive to local and foreign investments, by consolidating a culture of production and professional excellence in all petroleum sites in various governorates of the Republic.
