Egypt Gas announced the start of periodic works aimed at adding a distinctive odorant to natural gas networks in several vital areas in Qalyubia Governorate, specifically in the cities of Al-Khanka and Obour. This measure comes within the company's ongoing plans to secure gas transmission and distribution networks and improve their operational efficiency to ensure the highest standards of safety and security for citizens and facilities.

Details of gas odorization works in Al-Khanka and Obour cities

These periodic works will begin according to the specified schedule, with technical procedures in both cities starting from early morning and continuing until all network-related works are fully completed. Egypt Gas confirmed that these operations may be accompanied by a noticeable spread of natural gas odor in the air surrounding work sites and nearby residential neighborhoods, stressing that this is completely normal and not cause for any concern.

The process of injecting the odorant is a fundamental preventive and organizational measure, carried out regularly to enable citizens and relevant authorities to detect any potential natural gas leak as quickly as possible, contributing to the enhancement of public safety systems and early prevention of network hazards.

Emergency numbers and communication methods with Egypt Gas

Out of concern for the safety of citizens and to prevent any panic resulting from inhaling the gas odor during the work period, the relevant authorities have designated emergency numbers to receive inquiries and reports around the clock. Citizens in Obour City can contact via the dedicated mobile number, while landline and mobile lines have been provided for Al-Khanka City to receive immediate reports in case of suspected leaks or for inquiries regarding the nature of the ongoing works.

The company emphasizes the importance of not following rumors or causing anxiety among residents, and relying exclusively on official channels and approved emergency numbers to report any observations related to natural gas services in the area.
