Beta Energy has signed a contract to supply a 250 MVA electrical transformer for a battery energy storage system project in Romania, a step that represents a milestone in expanding the company's business and its presence in the European market.

The value of the contract reached 1.88 million euros, and includes, in addition to supplying the transformer, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning operations. This transformer, which has a capacity of 115/33/33 kV, is the first of its kind to be produced at this scale in the new Beta Energy Technology and Energy Complex, reflecting the company's advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Strategic importance of energy storage

In this context, Yusuf Cenk Dağsoy, member of the Board of Directors and CEO of Beta Energy, emphasized that the global energy sector is entering a new phase where the management, storage, and transmission of energy are as important as its production. He pointed out that the rapid expansion of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power necessitates the construction of stronger and more reliable electrical grids to ensure supply stability.

Dağsoy added that battery energy storage systems are gaining critical importance for achieving energy security and integrating renewable sources efficiently within the electrical grid, highlighting the expected growth in the global energy storage sector over the coming years to meet the needs of the energy transition.

Expansion in European markets

The CEO explained that the company is focused on developing the infrastructure necessary to support the global energy transition, describing the Romanian deal as a strategic move to strengthen its presence on the European continent. He affirmed that the engineering capabilities and the new technology complex allow the company to meet the requirements of major international projects with high capacities.

Dağsoy concluded by emphasizing the company's commitment to continuing the development of technologies that contribute to energy efficiency and smart grids, to enhance the role of the engineering industry in supporting sustainability goals and the shift toward future energy sources.
