The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Qena Governorate launched intensive inspection campaigns targeting markets, gas stations, and commercial shops, which resulted in the seizure of large quantities of diesel, expired food products, and other items of unknown origin.

Large quantities of diesel seized at gas stations

Regulatory efforts resulted in the seizure of 4,354 liters of diesel at two gas stations in the Bandar Qena and Dishna areas. A gas station in Bandar Qena was found to have disposed of 2,523 liters of diesel in violation of regulations, while the Dishna Supply Department managed to seize an additional 1,831 liters at another gas station, reflecting intensified oversight on the governorate's fuel distribution system.

Seizure of expired and unknown-origin goods

As part of consumer protection efforts, the campaigns in Abu Tesht center succeeded in seizing a group of goods including industrial beverages, car oils, and cigarettes, in addition to 75 liters of diesel and 40 kilograms of expired liquid fertilizer, due to the lack of invoices proving their origin. Seizures in Nag Hammadi also included quantities of snacks, sweets, biscuits, pasta, and some cleaning products that were found to be expired or lacked official documentation for trading.

Legal measures and intensified oversight

In addition to the seizure of goods, a number of legal reports were filed for violations related to not displaying prices in the centers of Abu Tesht, Nag Hammadi, and Qus, covering various commercial activities such as touristic bakeries, grocery stores, and electrical appliance shops. All seized items have been impounded in preparation for submission to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary measures, with an emphasis on the continuation of these campaigns to ensure that subsidies reach those entitled to them and to prevent commercial fraud.
