President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the core objective of organizing the energy forum is to raise citizens' awareness of the realistic challenges facing the state in this vital sector. He pointed out the necessity of clarifying all burdens and costs associated with securing supplies and providing the country's needs, moving beyond merely presenting technical and specialized visions exchanged by experts and officials in periodic meetings.

The Importance of Public Awareness of Energy Challenges

During a session on the journey of the Egyptian energy within the activities of the Egypt 2026 Forum, the President explained that the forum primarily seeks to explain the reality of the situation and clarify various files to the citizens. This approach aims to form a conscious public opinion capable of grasping the dimensions of the issues at hand, away from circulating views that may not take into account the actual conditions or the available capabilities of the state.

He stressed that the discourse directed at citizens must take into account the simplification of concepts, as the average citizen needs to understand the nature of the problems, the costs associated with them, in addition to identifying the sources of funding necessary to deal with these challenges.

Utilizing Expertise and Standards for Proposed Solutions

El-Sisi stated that the state relies on the continuous use of experts and specialists to discuss current and future challenges, with the aim of reaching innovative and creative solutions. He emphasized that this process takes place regularly through state institutions at various levels.

In a related context, the President stressed that any technical proposals must be based on specific criteria related to cost and sources of funding. He explained that answering questions of cost and the source of funding must precede talking about implementation mechanisms, in order to ensure that citizens realize the volume of burdens borne by the state and the resources required to provide basic services.

Timeframes for Exploration and Production Projects

Regarding operational processes, the President pointed out that the path from launching bidding rounds for oil and gas exploration to the stage of actual production entry may take a period ranging between 5 to 7 years, reflecting the strategic and long-term nature of energy projects.
